Empower kids: color, learn, and earn with SOMO!

Co-Founder

Malcolm Whichard

Malcolm Ali is a seasoned entrepreneur, government contracting expert, and passionate advocate for youth empowerment. With over 20 years of experience in business development, procurement, and economic advancement, Malcolm has helped countless minority-owned businesses secure millions in government contracts and scale their operations with confidence.

But his most meaningful venture began at home—with his 7-year-old daughter, Morgan.

As the co-founder of SOMO Apparel, Malcolm brings his expertise and heart into a mission-driven brand that combines creativity, education, and entrepreneurship. Determined to give children—especially Black and Brown youth—early exposure to business and financial literacy, Malcolm designed SOMO Apparel to be more than just a clothing line. Through the SOMO Scholars program, he’s building a pipeline for generational wealth and confidence, one colorful T-shirt at a time.

Malcolm believes that when kids are empowered to dream big and take ownership of their future, the possibilities are limitless—and he’s committed to showing them how.
